I also thought that the crunching must be incredibly irritating for others in the walking group I was in at the time. I had several attempts with a pair of pliers but couldn’t budge them at all. I really had a strenuous few go’s at it but to absolutely no effect so I’d be surprised if dobs fall out before Orocs are very well used. Despite all that they were really great tough and super grippy shoes.Edward B Davieshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00476782736985549719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7027504924823552435.post-64557606234781124992021-03-27T14:42:55.147+00:002021-03-27T14:42:55.147+00:00WD40 for the rustWD40 for the rustPeter Dewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08482036119682371431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7027504924823552435.post-80475133179197478302020-03-11T20:16:55.817+00:002020-03-11T20:16:55.817+00:00For a more up to date version of these shoes- I us...For a more up to date version of these shoes- I use the Arctic Claw- review is here - https://testedtodestruction.blogspot.com/2018/12/inov8-arcticclaws.htmlzephrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11119723564120514848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7027504924823552435.post-66060451162031868612016-01-30T12:52:05.105+00:002016-01-30T12:52:05.105+00:00David, thanks for your thoughts and comments about...David, thanks for your thoughts and comments about Icebugs. I was so focussed on the dobs I completely forgot to think about what they might be like on mud!

Interesting thought on the race ultras vs the mudclaws. Ive not tried on a pair of race ultras, so cant really comment... As far as i can see the precision and standard fit don't differ in length, rather than breadth. However, I think that different lasts have different lengths.

The terraclaws seem to be slightly shorter- but wider in the forefoot than precision fit mudclaws and x-talons - but I wouldnt say they were a whole size smaller. zephrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11119723564120514848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7027504924823552435.post-32062562572752681542016-01-25T07:37:44.541+00:002016-01-25T07:37:44.541+00:004 years ago I bought a pair of Pytho 2's (IceB...4 years ago I bought a pair of Pytho 2's (IceBug) and did not have any trouble with feeling the dobs. However, they are only suitable on Ice - in Mud their sole does not grip well. I guess their orienteering models are better suited for mud, but the dobs on those are fixed (on the pytho's they 'retract' into the shoe on asphalt) - so there you might feel the dobs as well.

Also: I recently had a pair of Raceultra's in hand and noticed that the insole of a size 10.5 is roughly one size smaller than the sole of a size 10.5 Mudclaw. Do you know if inov8 has a different sizing for precision and standard fit shoes? It's kinda hard to test it here because almost no shops carry them.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02219068169800614263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7027504924823552435.post-46850973003242952462016-01-19T14:34:53.005+00:002016-01-19T14:34:53.005+00:00Yeah - the 3 year ago model seemed to have a very ...Yeah - the 3 year ago model seemed to have a very different foot shape and I didnt get on with them when I tried them on. The new and up-to-date model seem to be a lit kinder on the feet. (or at least, my feet), and appear to be more based on the x-talon. zephrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11119723564120514848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7027504924823552435.post-72124286458908890792016-01-19T14:32:25.728+00:002016-01-19T14:32:25.728+00:00I paid £40 odd for mine about 3 years ago. At that price I keep them for special occasions, meaning I have not done a hugh amount of miles in them but they have been excellent in the hard snow/ice.Kinder Groovy Lovehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03136742984019844215noreply@blogger.com
